The Beta District is an innovative smart mobility ecosystem that spans from Columbus through Dublin, Marysville and Union County. But it’s more than just a physical space surrounding the US 33 Smart Mobility Corridor. It’s a shared vision to test possibilities. The private sector, government and academia all converge here – a fertile ground for the safe testing and deployment of cutting-edge technologies in real-world scenarios.
The Beta District is a hub for innovation, smart mobility and emerging technologies, yet it is a new brand that still has a way to go before local and national stakeholders are aware of the district and understand its role. Officially launched during the pandemic, The Beta District brand was developed to convey that the Dublin, Marysville and Union County areas stand ready to be partners in testing connected, automated, electric and other smart mobility and smart city technologies.
MurphyEpson specializes in making the complex clear. We dove deep into The Beta District’s identity, uncovering its unique value proposition and creatively conveying what it stands for. Through a comprehensive marketing, partner engagement and media relations strategy, we are elevating brand awareness, positioning The Beta District as a connector of industry engagement in the region and creating new opportunities for partnerships and collaboration. We keep the Beta District website and LinkedIn pages fresh and compelling, with thought leadership blogs and the latest smart mobility and smart city developments. We spotlight initiatives at DriveOhio, ODOT’s smart mobility branch and Transportation Research Center, which are key partners in researching connected and automated technologies. We use digital ads to invite targeted partners to “plug in.”
Our team helped launch Mobility in Color, an event series to engage Black and Brown leaders in mobility, tech and innovation. MurphyEpson managed event logistics, coordinated speakers and vendors, and ensured a seamless experience. We also developed all messaging and collateral, from email invites and programs to presentations and nametags. This event sparked deeper collaboration, which has led to the formation of a Business Advisory Group—a collective of top minds in smart mobility, automotive, transportation and connectivity working to turn ideas into real-world solutions. The MurphyEpson team also helped plan Ohio’s Future of Mobility event to convene regional and international leaders to explore innovations and public-private collaboration. To further bring the brand to life, we developed a dynamic video series featuring The Beta District’s leaders and their impact, amplifying their story across social media, presentations and digital platforms. We also gained local and national media recognition by highlighting the new executive director’s appointment, securing press noting The Beta District’s role in driving innovation. Through ongoing consultation with The Beta District’s executive director and the marketing committee, we continue to strengthen the brand, expand its reach and drive meaningful connections in the innovation space.
